Mercedes And Land Rover, Left Running, Are Stolen In Millburn: Police Reports

A running Land Rover and a Mercedes were stolen in Millburn this month. See more police items below.

MILLBURN, NJ — Several car thefts and attempted thefts were reported to Millburn police this month. In addition, a resident's report of a stolen package led police to a nearby stolen car.

Here is the information released by the Millburn Police Department:

On Jan. 15, Officer Larcom responded to a Maple Street residence for a report of motor vehicle theft. The resident reported that her Mercedes was left running in the roadway with the keys in it, and someone stole it. This incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.

On Jan. 16, Officer Ford responded to a West Road residence for a report of motor vehicle theft. The resident reported that her 2014 Land Rover was left running in the driveway with no key fob in it and someone stole it. This incident is under investigation.

On Jan. 18 at 12:15 a.m., Millburn Police Officer Jezewski responded to a Tennyson Drive residence on a report of an attempted package theft. The resident said someone was caught on video attempting to steal a package from the porch. A description was put out and Police Officer Kerwien located a matching vehicle nearby.

The vehicle was reported stolen out of Bridgewater. However, when officers attempted to stop the vehicle, it fled at a high rate of speed.

On Jan. 18, Millburn Police Officer Dundon responded to a Mohawk Road residence for a report of attempted burglary to a vehicle. The resident reported that someone was captured on security footage trying to enter his vehicle.

On January 18, 2022, Police Officer Dundon responded to auto burglaries on Harvey Drive and Wordsworth Road. In both burglaries, someone entered the vehicles and rummaged through them, but nothing was reported missing.
