Shoplifters Boost $10K In Goods From Short Hills Mall: Police
Hollister, Burberry, Bloomingdales, Express, Sephora and Polo Ralph Lauren were hit in a shoplifting spree.

MILLBURN, NJ - More than $10,000 in merchandise was stolen from the Mall at Short Hills in early October, according to the Millburn Police Department. Hollister, Burberry, Express, Sephora, Bloomingdales and Polo Ralph Lauren were hit.
- On Oct. 4, Millburn Police Officer Smeraldo responded to the Hollister store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Hollister personnel reported 37-year-old Crystal Morrison of Brooklyn, NY, and 38-year-old Marshall Carver of Statesboro, Ga. concealed $2,294 worth of fragrances in a booster bag and left the store without making payment, police said. Both individuals were also found to be in possession of $1,516 worth of stolen merchandise from the Express store, and $1,464 worth of stolen merchandise from the Sephora store, police said. Both individuals were placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting, receiving stolen property, and conspiracy, police said. Morrison was released on a summons and Carver was remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility on a warrant, police said.
- On Oct. 5, Millburn Police Officer Nacim responded to the Burberry store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Burberry personnel reported 24-year-old Steven Vincent of East Orange concealed a shirt valued at $290 under his clothing and left the store without making payment, police said. Carson Mathurin II then took the shirt along with two other stolen shirts and concealed them in his shopping bag, police said. Both individuals were placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting, police said. Starobens Louis, age 25 of Irvington, was placed under arrest on an outstanding traffic warrant out of South Brunswick, police said. Vincent and Mathurin II were both released on a summons and Louis was turned over to the South Brunswick Police Department, police said.
- On Oct. 7, Millburn Police Officer Manuyag responded to the Polo Ralph Lauren store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report. Polo personnel reported a black male wearing a red Deadpool hat along with a black male wearing a black White Sox hat took 28 pairs of jeans valued at $5,663.00 from a display table and concealed them in shopping bags before leaving the store without making payment, police said. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
- On Oct. 8, Millburn Police Officer Hunt responded to Bloomingdales on a theft report. Bloomingdales personnel reported a heavy set white balding male took a Fryer valued at $399 and left the store without making payment, police said. The incident is under investigation by the Millburn Police Detective Bureau.
