Short Hills College-Age Teen Allegedly Stabbed Fellow Student: Authorities

The Short Hills student was arrested with a wood-handled straight razor in his possession, police stated.

A 19-year-old Short Hills college student attending Lehigh University allegedly stabbed a fellow student in the leg with a razor on Saturday, authorities stated.

The Morning Call stated that according to court records, the victim reported that the stabbing took place around midnight as he was walking on Brodhead Avenue.

Authorities charged Nicolas Sarano with aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime and harassment.

Police said that when taken into custody, Sarano had a wood-handled straight razor in his possession, which he reportedly admitted that he had been carrying with him the entire night of the attack.

He paid his bail, which was posted at $35,000, and was released, authorities stated.

University administrators told The Morning Call that Sarano could face sanctions if he violated the school’s code of conduct.
