“Animatronics was originally created by the design engineering groups of Walt Disney, to bring 3D objects alive in their amusement parks,” school officials stated. “This technology was prohibitively expensive thereby limiting its use to the Disney labs. With the advent of free 3D design software, and low cost 3D scanners and printers, creating these objects becomes much more affordable. Utilizing robotics enables students to bring the objects to ‘life’ at a reasonable cost.”
