Short Hills Defense Firm Will Relocate Corporate HQ To Florida

Umbra Applied Technologies Group plans to make the move by the end of 2015.

Umbra Applied Technologies Group, a homeland security-focused technology manufacturer, announced on Wednesday will be moving its Short Hills-based corporate office to Tampa, Florida.

According to a release, the company will relocate its corporate headquarters following the build out of a second Tampa location, which is projected to be completed by the end of 2015.

The new corporate office will house the company’s Intelligence Operations, product sales force, a customer service department, and a warranty department to support expanding operations.

The announcement comes in the wake of what company executives termed an “aggressive acquisitions initiative” that’s acquired more than three companies and a “vast portfolio of intellectual properties” over the past three years.

According to its website, Umbra Applied Technologies Group is a “diversified technology company with a vision for the fields of alternative energy, conventional energy, medical innovation, environmental remediation, weapons systems and compound recognition technologies that are related to homeland security.”
