The Cleveland Indians promoted Far Brook School alum Michael Chernoff to general manager.

Baseball fans in Millburn and Short Hills can chalk up a “HR” on their scorecards.
That’s because the Cleveland Indians have promoted of their own to one their top administrative positions… former Far Brook School alum Michael Chernoff.
“Congratulations, Mike!” the Far Brook School Alumni wrote via social media after learning of Chernoff’s promotion to general manager.

The Indians announced the move on Tuesday.
Chernoff, 34, has been with the Indians for 12 seasons, serving as Antonetti’s assistant GM since October 2010.

According to his LinkedIn profile, he has an A.B. degree in economics from Princeton University.
Chernoff, who is from Livingston, played shortstop for the Princeton Tigers baseball team.
