Short Hills Native Promoted at ExxonMobile
He'll serve as president of ExxonMobile Upstream Research Company
A Short Hills native will take over as ExxonMobile Upstream Research Company president in June.
The company announced Thursday its current president, S. M. (Steve) Cassiani, will retire on May 31 after 40 years with the company. A company press release states it's expected the company's Board of Directors will elect S.M. (Steve) Greenlee, a Short Hills native, as president on June 1.
Greenlee is currently vice president for Asia Pacific and Middle East with ExxonMobil Exploration Company.
Greenlee joined Exxon Production Research Company in 1981 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in geology from Duke University and a master’s degree in geological oceanography from the University of Rhode Island. He held several research and supervisory positions with Exxon Production Research Company in Houston and London before moving to Exxon Ventures Inc. in 1993 where he had supervisory responsibilities for Western Siberia and Kazakhstan, according to the release.
In 1996, Greenlee became manager of geological operations for production operations at Exxon Company USA, based in New Orleans, and he was appointed manager of area geoscience for Brazil for ExxonMobil Exploration Company in 2000. A year later, he became vice president, geoscience, for Saudi Arabia.
Greenlee became upstream advisor at Exxon Mobil Corporation headquarters in Irving, Tex., in 2002 and was appointed vice president for geoscience for Asia Pacific, ExxonMobil Exploration Company, in 2004.
