St. Rose of Lima Student Council led a program last June to raise funds, which enabled them to purchase 17 tower fans for our classrooms. They were able to accomplish this while using math skills and having fun too! Student Council ran a game called Penny Wars. Each class in fifth through eighth grade had a labeled jar to collect money. Pennies gave your team positive points; while nickels, dimes, quarters, and any dollar bills take points away from another team's total. In just a short time, this friendly competition raised over $500.
Congratulations to our Student Council for a job well done and to our current seventh grade class, who were the winners of this event!
