St. Rose of Lima Academy - "Egg"ceptional People

At St. Rose of Lima Academy, located in Short Hills, New Jersey April means Easter, eggs, and the Second Grade’s study of “egg”ceptional people!

The students in Mrs. Carangelo’s Second Grade class began this “egg”citing assignment by researching a person who they felt showed “egg”cellent character, work ethic, bravery, and made a positive impact in some way.

Students did research on their chosen person, wrote a rough draft, edited it, and then concluded with their final published copy.

As an “egg”stra component of this assignment, each student then took and “egg” shaped piece of colored construction paper to represent the head of his or her famous person. All students then used their imagination to create a caricature version of their “egg”ceptional person. The children designed the proper clothes, hair, facial features, and props that would accurately represent their chosen person.

With all their creative juices flowing, the students were “egg”stremly “egg”cited as they created replicas of the famous person. The caricatures and reports are now hanging in the entrance of our school for all to see! What a wonderful “egg”ample of student work!
