The campers at St. Rose of Lima Academy’s summer camp have had many wonderful experiences, cooking, crafts, water play, and weekly visits from the educators at Turtle Back Zoo. The educators did not come alone; they brought animal bio facts and ambassador animals from the zoo’s education collection. The campers were excited to learn about the importance of fish, reptiles, mammals, birds, amphibians, and insects. They also learned about our obligation to respect and protect all living things. In an effort to help animals the campers made bird feeders, to hang outside for the birds in their neighborhoods and paper chains to be used as enrichment for the animals at Turtle Back Zoo. It's a great day when you learn interesting facts, have fun, and help animals too!
