Suspected Package Thieves Hit 5 Short Hills Homes, Millburn Cops Say

The two men also allegedly stole packages from a Maplewood home, Millburn police said.

Short Hills, NJ – Millburn police have arrested two men suspected of stealing packages from five Short Hills homes and a residence in Maplewood, authorities said.

According to the Millburn Police Department, officers responded to a White Oak Ridge Road residence on July 5 after the occupant reported that a package was stolen from their front step.

The resident told officers that a passenger in a grey Honda Accord with a temporary New Jersey license plate ran up to their steps, grabbed the packages and put them in the trunk of the vehicle. The car then fled the scene, police stated.

A Millburn police officer later spotted the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop on Millburn Avenue near Lackawanna Place, authorities said.

After an investigation, police arrested Raomaine Duncan, 22, and Moshe Esson, 21, both of Irvington. Both are accused of stealing packages from five Short Hills homes and a residence in Maplewood, police said.

Authorities charged the two men with theft of moveable property and released them with a court date.
