Take The Train In Millburn And Get Your Ashes On Wednesday
Get your ashes on the run Wednesday. "Being loved by God is not limited to a church building or faith community," said a Millburn reverend.
MILLBURN, NJ — For commuters who are unable to attend weekday services, a church in Millburn will distribute ashes in the train station on Wednesday morning.
Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent, the season when Christians prepare for the celebration of Easter. On Ash Wednesday, Christians typically attend services at their local churches where they receive a blessing of ashes as a sign of penitence, grace, and relationship with God.
Rev. Paula J. Toland and Peter Wick of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church in Millburn will be at the station on Wednesday, March 2 from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Toland said, "In the midst of the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, it is important to pause and be reminded that we are part of something more than just our daily routines, our jobs, the tasks of
daily living. With Ashes to Go we are reminded that God is alive and present in and through all things."
Toland said, "Being loved by God is not limited to a church building or faith community. It is, paradoxically, both humbling and empowering. It is grace."
