Tech Splash Washes Over Millburn

The program showcased best practices for teaching through technology.

MILLBURN, NJ - Like it or not, we are less than a month away from the start of school and the Millburn School District is already preparing with a TechSplash program on Wednesday.

Teachers from around New Jersey visited Millburn High School learning and teaching technology. At Millburn High School, the Technology Department infuses technology throughout the teaching and learning environment and provide students with a variety of tools to assist in the development of their knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors.

Now before you head back into summer mode you might want to take note of some important dates for the upcoming school year:

  • First day of school: Sept. 3
  • Rosh Hashanah: Sept. 30, Oct. 1
  • Yom Kippur: Oct. 9
  • Staff Development: Oct. 14
  • Early Dismissal, parent/teacher conference: Nov. 4, Nov. 5, Nov. 6
  • Teacher Convention: Nov. 7-8
  • Thanksgiving break: Single session Nov. 27, off Nov. 28-29
  • Early Dismissal: Dec. 20
  • Winter break: Dec. 23 to Jan. 1
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Day, school closed: Jan. 20
  • Mid-Winter Recess: Feb. 17- Feb. 21
  • Early Dismissal: March 18
  • Spring break: April 6-10
  • Early Dismissal, elementary conference: April 20-April 22
  • Memorial Day, school closed: May 25
  • Early Dismissal: June 19, June 22, June 23 (last day of school)
  • High School Graduation: June 24
