Teen Tries To Flee Police By Ordering Uber, Millburn Police Say
Millburn police said that while investigating a burglary attempt, they saw a teen suspect trying to "flee" in an Uber or Lyft.
MILLBURN, NJ — A teen in a ski mask tried and failed to break into a Millburn home in the wee hours of Friday morning, then tried leave the area in an Uber or Lyft, police said.
The Millburn police said that on Jan. 6, around 2:25 a.m., Officer Bifano responded to a Kilmer Drive residence for a report of an attempted burglary.
A resident told police that someone wearing a dark puffy coat, dark pants, and a ski mask attempted to gain entry to his house.

Later, at around 4 a.m., Officer Wichelns located a suspect matching the description, "attempting to flee in an Uber/Lyft," police said.
The investigation led to the arrest of a 16-year-old male from South Orange, police said.

He was charged with juvenile delinquency (burglary) and later released into the custody of a parent, police said.
