The end of summer grows ever closer with township students returning to school next Tuesday. Many are taking advantage of these school-free months by going on vacation while others remain in town enjoying the weather or preparing for fall sports. And this weekend represents their final moments of taking advantage of summer.
This weekend is the final one to enjoy the town pool this year. The pool concludes its season on Labor Day. Its hours are noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday. The pool office number is 973-376-3822, which is available when the pool is open.
Shop for a Labor Day barbecue at the Summit Farmers Market on Sunday. The market offers fresh fruit, vegetables, flowers, seafood, and other seasonal and regional goods. It is open every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. through November at the Park & Shop Lot at the corner of DeForest Avenue and Maple Street in Summit.
