Time Warp on Main Street: Paper Mill Hosts 'Hairspray' Celebration

Hula hoops, big hair and music from the 1960s. It was like stepping into a time warp on Main Street on Sunday afternoon. The Paper Mill Playhouse hosted the Hairspray Blowout Bash on Main Street and in Taylor Park in celebration of the opening of its 2010-11 season with "Hairspray." The play opens on Wednesday and runs through Oct. 24. Among the events Sunday was a biggest hair contest, dance contest and a hula hoop contest. Christine Danelson, who plays Tracy Turnblad, and Constantine Rousouli, who plays Link, also performed.
