Tinga Returns!

Fresh tacos, quesadillas and tasty Mexican salads are back in downtown Millburn.

, a Mexican restaurant with branches in Montclair and Westfield, reopened Wednesday night for dinner for the first time in 11 months.

"Were back," one the owners, David Fishman said. "It's really great to see a lot of the regulars we haven't seen in almost a year."

The restaurant is back to regular hours on Thursday opening at 11:30 a.m. and closing at 9:30 p.m. On Friday and Saturday it will open at the same time but will close a little later at 10 p.m. 

"There was a nice crowd in the restaurant despite the weather," Fishman said. 

Yet, the restaurant reopened without any issues serving take-out or dine-in dinner for many Millburn resident regulars.

"The rain from the downpour came over the front curb," Fishman said with a laugh. "It was remisicent of hurricane Irene."

The restuarant didn't just reopen, although the menu will stay the same. Fishman said the owners took the opportunity to redesign the restaurant while it was closed. The redesigned Tinga features some new seating, equipment, titles, carpentry and floors, blended with some of the old decorations. Seating remains at 50 to 60 people.

"We've spruced up the place quite a bit," Fishman told the Patch previously.
