Trader Joe's Recalls Nuts Because of Possible Contamination: Millburn Location Included

A recall for pistachios, including Trader Joe’s and Wonderful brands, has issued because they could be contaminated.

In an email sent March 9 to the company’s customers, Trader Joe’s said it had been alerted by the supplier of in-shell, roasted pistachios that the following products have been removed from store shelves and have been suspended from being sold:

• Trader Joe's Dry Roasted & Unsalted Pistachios (UPC 0007 9990)
• Trader Joe's Dry Roasted & Salted Pistachios(UPC 0007 9983)
• Trader Joe's 50% Less Salt Roasted & Salted Pistachios (UPC 0011 1348)

The “best if used by” dates are from Oct. 27, 2016 through Nov. 4, 2016.

ABCNews said the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued a statement saying the recalled pistachios are sold under brand names Wonderful, Paramount Farms and Trader Joe's, and were sold nationwide and in Canada.

The Trader Joe's products are packaged in 16-ounce plastic bags with the code information on the back of the package, along the bottom.

No illnesses have been reported so far.

Trader Joe’s said if you purchased any of the affected product they should not be consumed. They should be returned to the store for a full refund or discarded.
