Video: How to Use the Parking Pay Machines

A look at how to use your credit card in the machines.

It's been about a month since credit card use was implemented in the downtown parking pay machines. It's an added feature to using quarters in the machines in three downtown parking machines.

  1. Press in the space number on the machine.
  2. Insert your credit card with the strip down and to the right.
  3. The machine will automatically add $.25 (the cost of 30 minutes). You can add $.25 by pushing the blue button. Pushing the yellow button adds $1.
  4. If you are not doing the maximum time (two or three hours), push the green button.
  5. Wait as the machine calls the credit card company to authorize the transaction. It will take 30-45 seconds, and the machine will beep as it authorizes.
  6. Take your receipt. There will be two—one for the credit card transaction and one detailing how long you have on the meter.
