Vote for the Best in Essex County

You might see the little signs popping up in store windows around Millburn-Short Hills again asking for your vote.

Suburban Essex is asking people to vote for their favorite businesses around the county, including in the township. You can vote in a variety of categories on the Suburban Essex website.

Included in the local nominated businesses are:

• Pub: Johnny's on the Green
• Burger: Five Guys Burger & Fries (although it's actually Vauxhall)
• Car Wash: Millburn Car Wash
• Chinese Restaurant: Jade Lake Gourmet
• Deli: Millburn Deli
• Diner: Millburn Diner
• Florist: Emerald Garden, Millburn Florist
• Home Furnishings: Jen Meyer Interiors
• Italian Restaurant: Basilico, Johnny's on the Green
• Jewelry Store: Red Carpet Boutique
• Martini: Martini Bistro & Bar
• Mexican: Tinga
• Optician: eyeQ Opticians
• Outdoor Dining: Johnny's on the Green
• Pet Store: Millburn Pet Shop
• Restaurant (full service): Johnny's on the Green
• Romantic Restaurant: Johnny's on the Green

No Millburn businesses won the voting in 2009, and you can read the article online with the winners. There are no write-in votes on the form. Voting ends on Sept. 15. One vote per e-mail address per category is allowed, and you must be 18 years old and a New Jersey resident to vote. If you are a resident of Essex County, your vote counts twice.

Millburn businesses and locations are routinely part of "the best" articles in New Jersey. Most recently Inside Jersey rated South Mountain Reservation the best people park and dog park and for best restaurants the Millburn Deli rated the best deli and Basilico for best Italian.
