Weather Update: Thunderstorms Predicted for Tuesday in Millburn-Short Hills

Weather forecasters at the National Weather Service are predicting “showers and isolated thunderstorms” with possible fog for Tuesday, due to a warm front from the north and a cold front approaching from the west.

According to forecasters, the morning hours are the most likely to see rain. Temperatures will remain warm throughout the day, reaching up to the high 70s.

NWS forecasters are calling for a return to sunny skies on Wednesday.

Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 77. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers between 10pm and 1am. Mostly cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 56. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph becoming northwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 69. Northwest wind 11 to 17 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 43.
