Video Shows Woman Piggybacking Man At Flooded NJ Train Station

The well-dressed man avoided getting wet by riding on the back of the woman.

SHORT HILLS, NJ - A well-dressed man avoided getting his suit wet Wednesday by taking a piggyback ride from a woman through the flooded station in Short Hills.

According to Ashley Maas, who shot the video below, the man ran down the steps of the train station where he is approached by a woman emerging from the tunnel. She hands him an umbrella and then braces as he climbs on to her back, wraps his arms around her and then they take off toward the parking lot.

"I was literally just standing at the top of the steps, taking a video of the water cascading down. I thought it looked pretty and also insane. And then all of a sudden that woman popped out and he hopped on her back. I had no idea she was even there," Maas told Patch Friday. "I was laughing so hard, I don’t even remember thinking anything more than how unexpected and silly it was. They were like children."

Maas said the always loves seeing men and women in business attire behaving like children.

"Suited men on scooters and rollerblades especially gets me. So when I managed to capture this very childlike moment, I felt like I had to share it," she said.

Maas also said the text she used around the tweet, where she called the moment a "rich person gem" was a bit unfair.

" To be honest, I was at dinner by then and not thinking anyone other than my friends would see it. But having video journalist friends means bigger retweets. And there you have it," she said. "I’m sure that guy, whoever he is, is super cool. "

Since posting the video to her social media it has received almost 900,000 views and Maas, who is a video producer at the New Yorker, has licensed out the video to junkinmedia.

Maas was so intrigued by the pair that she went back the next day to seek them out.

"Returned to the scene. Mystery duo was nowhere in sight," she wrote.
