Woman’s Body Found Near Short Hills Train Station: Police

The body of a deceased, 76-year-old woman was discovered near the Short Hills Train Station, Millburn police said.

SHORT HILLS, NJ — Authorities have launched an investigation after the body of a deceased, 76-year-old woman was discovered near the Short Hills Train Station on Tuesday evening.

According to the Millburn Police Department, the woman was found at 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 8 at the intersection of Chatham and Woodland roads.

“Millburn police are working with the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office in the investigation,” a spokesperson said Thursday. “We are asking the public to contact our traffic bureau at 973-564-7757 with any information.”

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that authorities are investigating the death of the woman, who was pronounced dead on the scene.

The cause of death hasn’t been identified. Authorities are waiting to confirm the woman’s next of kin have been notified before releasing her identity, prosecutors said.
