Woman Steals From Seven Short Hills Mall Stores: Millburn Police

Margaret Walls went on a mall shopping spree without paying, authorities said.

MILLBURN, NJ - A 67-year-old Paterson woman was arrested and charged with shoplifting after stealing more than $6,000 in merchandise from seven stores in the Mall at Short Hills on June 22, according to the Millburn Police Department.

According to authorities, Millburn Police Officer Beyer responded to the Loft store at The Mall at Short Hills on a theft report where loft personnel reported Margaret Walls concealed five blouses valued at $247.50 in a bag and left the store without making payment.

Walls was found to have additional stolen property from Banana Republic, Madewell, J. Jill, J Crew, Macys, and Anthropologie for a total value of $6522.94, police said.

Wall was placed under arrest and charged with shoplifting and receiving stolen property before being remanded to the Essex County Correctional Facility.
