Wyoming avenue between Glen ave and South Orange ave is a 1.7 mile dragstrip for 18 wheelers (all vehicles actually), complete with starter signals (ie stop lights) at either end and ZERO traffic enforcement in between.
I spoke to the county sheriff, who stated the local police (Millburn/ Maplewood/ South Orange) are charged with enforcing traffic laws on wyoming and are shirking responsibility. Millburn police claim it is a county road and that the county is responsible. Yep. That's a fact.
I've been here for 25 years and have NEVER once seen a speeding ticket issued. Meantime, kids walking to school, runners, bikers, all local residents have to dodge tractor trailers, cars and motorcycles speeding (big time, like 45 to 50mph regularly) down this "road", day and night.

Last month, i personally witnessed a car zip right past the crossing guard at cypress and wyoming as she stood there, in bright orange waving a stop sign.
Still, i observe zero speed enforcement.

So, is an unnecessarily dangerous place, but heck, if you're in a hurry, the speedway is WIDE OPEN for you.
Please contact the township and ask them to "fix the glitch".
