Youth Volunteering Event Set For Millburn's George Bauer Community Center

Several community groups will join forces in Millburn next month for a children's volunteering event to help youngsters in need.

Millburn, NJ – Several community groups will join forces in Millburn for an upcoming children’s volunteering event.

“Kids For Kids,” organized by the Junior League of the Oranges and Short Hills (JLOSH), will bring local groups and children together for a morning of hands-on volunteering at the George Bauer Community Center in Taylor Park, 110 Main St., in Millburn, from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 12.

All elementary school-aged kids (ages six to 12) are welcome to the public event.

The activities children aged six to 12 years will be able to take part in include:

  • Decorating placemats to be donated to a food pantry for distribution
  • Filling bags with camp supplies & essentials
  • Decorating a mural and making no sew blankets for pediatric patients at St. Barnabas
  • ‘The Littlest Volunteer Contest’, a contest that awards $100 to kids’ ideas for helping to improve their community.

Children will also have the opportunity to learn about eco-literacy, dental hygiene and nutrition basics, according to a news release.

Donations of non-perishable goods, such as canned protein meals and travel size toiletries are welcome.
