2 Burglaries Reported In Montclair, Homeowner Confronts Intruder In Kitchen: Police
A Montclair resident woke up when he heard a loud banging and glass shattering. Here's what happened next, police say.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Two home burglaries were reported in Montclair last week, authorities say.
According to the Montclair Police Department, the first burglary was reported on March 13.
A resident of Willowdale Avenue told officers that he saw an open rear door at a nearby home over the last several weeks. On further investigation, it was discovered that the home had been burglarized, police said.

Surveillance video footage shows three men force their way into the residence through a rear door, authorities said.
Police said the first suspect had a stocky build and a beard, and was wearing a white-hooded sweatshirt, white pants and Nike shoes.

The second suspect had a thin build, short hair and a beard, and was wearing a black jacket and pants with “DRIP” written down the side.
The third suspect had short hair and a beard, and was wearing a black sweatshirt.
No additional information was immediately available.
INTRUDER IN KITCHEN
Another burglary took place on North Fullerton Avenue on March 14, police said.
The homeowner said he woke up at 4:55 a.m. when he heard a loud banging and glass shattering. When he went to investigate, he saw an unknown man opening drawers in his kitchen.
When confronted, the intruder – who was clad in a black mask and all black clothing – verbally threatened the homeowner and demanded “keys” – which he didn’t get, police said.
The intruder fled the home and got into a car that was parked nearby. The vehicle then drove away southbound on North Fullerton Avenue, police said.
