Montclair's annual July 4th parade and festival took place Saturday. The parade began on Bloomfield Avenue and Grove Street, and traveled a 1.6-mile route along Midland Avenue, Watchung Avenue and Valley Road before concluding at Edgemont Park.
This year – amid a severe heat wave – event organizers took some extra precautions, such as canceling entertainment, making water stations available along the parade route and having EMS personnel on site.
Steve Moctezuma, a photojournalist in Essex County, shared some photos taken at this year’s festivities (see gallery above).
