2. Montclair State launches virtual reality facility (roi-nj.com) — Montclair State University has opened a new on-campus virtual reality lab in the College of Communication and Media, giving more than 24,000 Montclair students access to immersive, high-tech coursework. Backed partly by a New Jersey economic development grant, the facility features a 26-seat classroom and free-roam pod, and will debut with Dreamscape Learn's interactive "Biology in the Alien Zoo" course.

Electrical Fire Extinguished Thanks to 17-Year-Old Montclair Resident's Quick Instincts (montclairlocal.news) — A 17-year-old Montclair resident quickly extinguished an electrical fire outside his Eagle Rock Way home after spotting sparks, smoke, and flames from a power line. His fast use of a fire extinguisher meant Montclair firefighters arrived to find the blaze already out, offering a strong reminder for neighbors to keep extinguishers handy and in working order at home.
