Community Foundation of New Jersey Awards $1 Million in Scholarships

(Morristown, NJ) – The Community Foundation of New Jersey (CFNJ) today announced the recipients of its 2012 scholarships, with total dollars distributed to exceed $1 million. 

 

CFNJ administers over 73 scholarships programs on behalf of donors who are committed to expanding educational opportunity.  Donors who create a scholarship fund at CFNJ enjoy an immediate tax benefit as well as the opportunity to distribute scholarships at their own pace, according to their own criteria, and with the help of CFNJ’s expert staff.

The Alfred J. Speak Scholarship supports the education of young people in New Jersey so that they may develop their moral, mental, intellectual and physical well being, and in later years become enlightened citizens.  Preference is given to students residing in the City of Newark, Essex County.  The 2012 Alfred J. Speak Scholarship recipients are:

 

  • Anita Lombri, Essex County
  • Amber Hill, Essex County
  • Charlayne Davis, Essex County,
  • Sarah Moustafa, Cape May County
  • Adeima Ibanga, Camden County

 

The J. Oscar & Susan Florence Hunt Scholarship provides scholarships in the memory of its namesakes who were residents of East Greenwich, Gloucester County, to worthy students based on need and merit.  The scholarship is awarded to four students each year who reside in Gloucester and Salem Counties.  The 2012 J. Oscar & Susan Florence Hunt Scholarship recipients are:

 

  • Jessica Hill, Gloucester County
  • Brianne Waters, Gloucester County
  • Molly Molnar, Gloucester County
  • Molly Molnar, Camden County

 

The Clanseer & Anna Johnson Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to African-American students born in the United States, residing in New Jersey, and entering their freshman year of college.  The students must have maintained an “A” or “B” average in subjects relating to science and mathematics. The 2012 Clanseer & Anna Johnson Scholarship Fund recipients are:

 

  • Janelle Wellons, Gloucester County
  • Kendra Lee, Gloucester County
  • Samantha Smith, Gloucester County
  • Iyore Olaye, Camden County

 

The Harry H. Loudenslager Scholarship was created under the will of Henry C. Loudenslager in memory of his late son.  The scholarship provides financial assistance to a worthy young man who is a resident of Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland or Cape May Counties. The 2012 Harry H. Loudenslager Scholarship recipients are:

 

  • Trent Hanlovsky, Cape May County
  • Nicholas Mazzotta, Cape May County

 

The Elizabeth Clark Loudenslager Scholarship was created under the will of Henry C. Loudenslager in memory of his late daughter.  The scholarship provides financial assistance to a worthy young woman who is a resident of Camden, Gloucester, Salem, Cumberland or Cape May Counties. The 2012 Elizabeth Clark Loudenslager Scholarship recipients are:

 

  • Theresa Bright, Cape May County
  • Jessica Duda, Camden County

 

The Dominique Lisa Pandolfo Memorial Scholarship was established by Barbara Pandolfo to honor the legacy of her daughter who was killed during the World Trade Center Attack on September 11, 2001.  The scholarship aims to help young women develop their potential, achieve their goals, and become successful adults and proud Americans.  The scholarship hopes to instill in each recipient the same spirit and zest for life that was so abundant in Dominique.  The 2012 Dominique Lisa Pandolfo Memorial Scholarship recipient is:

 

  • Alison White, Middlesex County
