Attempted Murder Charge After Shooting Near Montclair Barbershop

Montclair police made an arrest in connection with a shooting that took place near a local barber shop.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Montclair police have made an arrest in connection with a 2018 shooting that took place near a local barber shop, authorities announced Tuesday.

According to the Montclair Police Department, detectives arrested Rueben Moore, 28, of Montclair on Feb. 13 in the city of Newark without incident. He has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons offenses.

Montclair police responded to the area of Bloomfield Avenue and Mission Street at 7 p.m. on Nov. 17, 2018 after receiving a report about shots fired. On arrival, officers found a 26-year-old Montclair man lying in the floor of a local barber shop.

Police later determined that the victim was shot on Bloomfield Avenue and made his way into the shop, where he collapsed. Emergency responders provided medical aid and transported the victim to Mountainside Hospital in stable condition, authorities stated.

After the shooting, Montclair police identified Moore as the alleged gunman and issued a warrant for his arrest.
