"In the end I felt that it was [Aunt Jean's owner Jeanette Lauture's] karma to take over this space and not mine to sell," she said.

Meanwhile, Cucci said Montclair Beadworks is not dead and gone, noting that she will continue to give classes and be a presence in the community.

Cucci said that, as of March 1, she will continue her jewelry repair business out of the Montclair Antique Center, adding that various beading events are in the works.

"My new venture Montclair Beadworks on the Road has already begun home parties and after-school beading classes at the local elementary schools," she asid. "So Montclair Beadworks is still very much a presence on Church Street. All the best to Aunt Jean's. It is a perfect fit for that space. Church Street needs a toy store."
