Bloomfield College Men's Basketball Signs 8-Year-Old Montclair Boy to Team

A Montclair boy suffering from a rare form of cancer signed a ceremonial letter of intent with the Bloomfield College men's basketball team

A Montclair boy with a rare form of kidney cancer signed a ceremonial National Letter of Intent with the Bloomfield College Bears men’s basketball team.

Denis Boulos, 8, signed the ceremonial letter of intent at a Signing Day ceremony on Dec. 18, according to NorthJersey.com. Denis is recovering from a rare form of kidney cancer called Wilms’ tumor and joined the Bears through Team IMPACT, a non-profit organization that works by matching these kids with local college athletic teams.

According to its website, Team IMPACT improves “the quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses through the power of team.”

“Denis is already inspiring our team,” said senior Bears guard Marvin Williams, according to NorthJersey.com. “We can’t wait to have him around more often.”
