‘Disrespectful’ Flyers Of Montclair Cop Posted Around Town: MPD
"The officer is a victim of a disgruntled individual who was involved in a traffic enforcement matter," Montclair police said.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — The Montclair Police Department says that a “disgruntled” person who was involved in a traffic enforcement matter has been posting flyers involving a local officer across the township.
Montclair police posted the following message on social media about the issue:
“The Montclair Police Department is aware of an incident involving several flyers posted throughout the Township depicting a uniformed Montclair Police Officer. The flyers show the face of a uniformed MPD officer with disparaging and disrespectful remarks. At this time, an investigation is underway and we are actively tracing the source. As always, the Montclair Police Department strives to provide a professional police service to our community and we value respect, accountability, and integrity. We hold our reputation to the highest standards and take incidents like this seriously. If you have any information regarding this matter, please contact the Montclair Police Department at (973) 744-1234 and ask to speak to a member of the Detective Bureau.”
“The preliminary investigation indicates that the officer has done nothing improper and that the officer is a victim of a disgruntled individual who was involved in a traffic enforcement matter involving the MPD,” authorities added.
