Essex County Driver Followed Near Garden State Parkway: Police

Bloomfield police are seeking the driver of a black Honda Civic who allegedly followed a local man and flashed a handgun at him on Tuesday afternoon.

Bloomfield Police Spokesman Ralph Marotti told Patch that a 23-year-old Bloomfield man was driving south on the Garden State Parkway when the driver of the Civic, a male about 30-years-old, allegedly attempted to cut him off.

The motorist then followed the victim off the parkway and through several streets in Bloomfield, eventually pulling alongside him and flashing a black handgun, Marotti said.

At that time, the victim took off and was able to elude the Civic, Marotti added.

Bloomfield police are conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
