Attention all beer lovers!  Come meet Brooklyn Brewery Brewmaster Garrett Oliver, editor-in-chief of the new Oxford Companion to Beer. Copies of the ultimate beer guide will be available for purchase and signed by Garrett.  According to The New York Times, Garrett Oliver "has become widely acknowledged as an expert not only in making beer, but in tasting it, pairing it, and talking about it."     

Attendees will enjoy tastes of The Companion Ale, a Brewmaster's Reserve beer created to commemorate the book's publication, and brewed in an old style called "wheat wine," a wheat-based equivalent to barley wine.

Proprietor Sharon Sevrens last welcomed Garrett to Montclair for the shop's 2010 "cru vs. brew" event, where he went head-to-head with master sommelier Fred Dexheimer.  The result? A tie!
