Amanti Vino Hosts Montclair's Own "Olympic Games" (of Wine + Beer, that is!)
Through August 12th
As a fun and timely expression of the Olympic fever that's gripping the nation, Sharon Sevrens and her team at Amanti Vino have put together a lighthearted way for customers to show their competitive spirit ... by means of their favorite wines and beers!
"In honor of the London Olympics, we thought it would be a kick to create a wine 'tournament' complete with brackets that pit wines and beers from 16 countries against each other," notes Sharon, proprietor of the Church Street boutique wine and spirits shop. "At the end, we'll have a crowd-chosen champion!"
The most-purchased wine or beer for each pairing is the winner and will move into the next round. For each bottle a customer buys, their name will be entered into a drawing for a prize. One name will be drawn for each match-up (15 winners in total over 4 rounds). The final prize? A coveted ticket to Amanti Vino's 4th annual Oktoberfest on Friday, October 19th at the Upper Montclair Women's Club (an $80 value).
The wines and beers are -- naturally -- from countries represented in the Olympic games, and all are crowd-pleasers priced under $21.00.There are three rounds left in the "competition," which runs through August 12th. 8 lucky winners received a reusable AV wine tote, based on round 1's pairings.
