On Tuesday, April 3, Amanti Vino, the boutique wine and spirits shop on Church Street, will host an historic gathering of 35 French Grower/Winemakers presenting the fruits of their labor and 150+ wines at Montclair's -- and likely New Jersey's! -- first French Portfolio Tasting.
The unique occasion? A benefit for the first annual Montclair Film Festival, which runs May 1-6 ~ and a rare opportunity for consumers (and not just wine industry insiders!) to attend such a gathering.
These are real farmers and their estate-bottles wines; no large co-ops here! Burgundy, the Rhone Valley, the Loire Valley, Bordeaux and more ... all important regions will be represented.
The winemakers attending include:
- Jean Michel Gaunoux/Meursault
- Chantal Tortochot/Gevrey Cahmbertin
- Jean Paul Daumen/Vielle Julienne (Chateauneuf-du-Pape)
- Yves Cuilleron/les Vins de Vienne (Rhone Valley)
- Romain & Damien Bouchard/DRB (Chablis)
- Jean-Max Manceau/Domaine de Noire (Chinon)
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Montclair Film Festival, which will announce its lineup at the event. As a bonus, ticketholders will be entered into a drawing for two tickets to the festival.
