Drummer and leader Grassella Oliphant established himself as a top-flight jazzman in the late 1950s and early 1960s with performances with greats like singer Sarah Vaughan and organist Shirley Scott. He also released a pair of solid albums for Atlantic Records, including 1968's "The Grass Is Greener," which featured guitar ace Grant Green.
