Fundraiser for Local Teens Traveling To New Orleans To Rebuild Katrina-Devasted Home at ELEVATION BURGER

This June, just days after high schools close for the summer, St. John's Episcopal Church of Montclair will send 13 local teens packing to New Orleans on a mission of social outreach. The teens, mostly from Montclair, Glen Ridge high school will be working with hammers, nails, sheetrock and paint to transform an uninhabitable structure into someone's home.

Elevation Burger, 367 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair, is supporting this outreach, sponsoring a fundraiser next Monday, April 18.  Elevation Burger will donate 10% of dinner sales revenue between 5 - 9 pm.

"This is a perfect opportunity for our teens to fully commit to St. John's mission of social outreach. Each person on this trip will help make a difference in someone else's life," says Reverend Andrew Butler, who will be accompanying the group along with another chaperone.

The teen group, leaving June 25, will earn a full week of community service credit.

Parents are paying airfares, St. John's parish will purchase building materials, and the Episcopal Diocese will provide group accommodations.  The group will be fundraising for remaining expenses.
