Expensive Car Parts Stolen From Prius Owners In Montclair: Police

MONTCLAIR, NJ — A wave of catalytic converter thefts recently took place in Montclair, authorities reported Monday.

The Montclair Police Department released the following statement about the thefts:

“Throughout the day on Thursday, Oct. 19, the Montclair Police Department took numerous reports of catalytic converter thefts. The incidents appear to have occurred during the overnight hours and took place on North Fullerton Avenue, Carolin Road, William Street, and Gordonhurst Avenue.”

Police said the suspects targeted the expensive car parts on 2007-2008 Toyota Prius models – which have been at risk of similar thefts in the past.
