MONTCLAIR, NJ — Who says that learning about fire safety can’t be fun?

The Montclair Fire Department recently threw a block party at Nishuane Park, which included a pumpkin patch, bounce houses, free food, face painting and music from DJ Jeremy Pholettana of Sound Entertainment LLC.

Attendees also got some crucial fire safety education as a nod to Fire Prevention Month, with children getting a chance to “touch a truck” and get a firsthand view from inside a fire engine. Fire Prevention Bureau staff were available to answer questions from the public, and off-duty members of FMBA #20 were joined by on-duty staff to showcase some of the many capabilities of the Montclair Fire Department.
