Glen Ridge High Gets Bomb Threat, Student Arrested For Text Messages: Police
Police arrested a teen accused of making a bomb threat to the Glen Ridge High School via text messages last week.

Glen Ridge, NJ – Police arrested a local teen accused of making a bomb threat to the Glen Ridge High School via text messages last week.
According to the Glen Ridge Police Department, school officials told officers that a bomb threat had been made to the high school via text message around 9 p.m. on Feb. 9.
As a precaution the Essex County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Unit and K-9 were notified and conducted a search of the school with negative results.

Following an investigation, police ascertained that a juvenile male suspect allegedly sent text messages to two other juveniles, telling them not to go to school the next day since he was going to be involved in a school shooting, authorities stated.
After learning the student’s identity, police arrested him and charged him with making terroristic threats.

He was transported to the Essex County Juvenile Detention Center in Newark.
“The Glen Ridge Police Department in conjunction with school officials have taken several precautions to ensure the safety of the students at the Glen Ridge High School,” police stated in a release.
