Hundreds Rally In Montclair For Black Women, LGBTQA+ Lives
The demonstration was the latest in a wave of protests for racial justice and police oversight taking place in Montclair.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — Hundreds of people rallied in Montclair on Sunday to demand justice for Black women and LGBTQA+ Lives, reports say.
The “liberation march and rally,” which ended at Rand Park, was spearheaded by local advocacy group Students for Justice, TAP Into Montclair reported.
Some demonstrators said they were there to call attention to recent killings of transgender women, while others held signs with the name of Breonna Taylor, a 26-year-old Black woman who was fatally shot by police in Kentucky in March, NorthJersey.com reported.

Other protesters called for “defunding the police” and reinvesting the money in community programs, NorthJersey.com reported.
