Joe Biden To Stump For Sherrill In Montclair; Pence Picks Webber
The battle to replace one of the state's most powerful Republicans is heating up in NJ-11.

MONTCLAIR, NJ — The battle of the vice-presidential endorsements is escalating in New Jersey’s 11th congressional district.
On Labor Day, the campaign team of Mikie Sherrill, the Democratic frontrunner to replace one of the state’s most powerful Republicans, U.S. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, announced that former Vice President Joe Biden is coming to Montclair State University to lend her some high-profile support for November’s election.
On Wednesday at 1 p.m., Biden will headline Sherrill’s “Fall Campaign Kick-Off Rally” at MSU's University Hall at University Promenade in Montclair.

“America is at its best when our citizens are engaged in our political system, and feel as though they have leaders who will work hard to represent them,” Biden said. “I know that Mikie Sherrill wants to serve in Congress to give a voice to the people of New Jersey. I’m looking forward to being on campus at Montclair State University and sharing with the community why I’m proud to support Mikie this fall.”
Sherrill thanked Biden for his support, saying that he was an example of a leader who “works for all Americans.”
“I am grateful that he will join us in the 11th District to remind us of that calling,” Sherrill said.
Sherrill holds a bachelor's degree from the United States Naval Academy, a master's degree in global history from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and a law degree from Georgetown University. She and her husband Jason, a fellow Naval Academy graduate, live in Essex County where they are raising their four children.

Today @JoeBiden announced he is supporting our campaign here in #NJ11. Throughout his career, Vice President Biden has worked as an advocate for all Americans. I am running to put that same dedication to public service first, and I am honored to have his endorsement. pic.twitter.com/jkixW6s65o
