The Lamp is again reaching out for support from local citizens at its annual gala, to be held this year at the Glen Ridge Women's Club.

With the vilification of Haitian immigrants coming from major American politicians, attention to the day to day suffering of ordinary Haitian citizens in their own beleaguered country may diminish. But just as their hardships continue, so does the service provided by the Lamp for Haiti, the medical clinic founded by Montclair physician James Morgan M.D. in Cite Soleil, And that service not only continues, it expands.
Despite the ongoing gang activity that challenges virtually everyone, the clinic’s Haitian staff has opened a second location and has been serving patients - sick and injured adults and children, malnourished kids, pregnant women - when even other NGO’s have left the country.
