Learn The Language Of Computers With Montclair State's New Degree

MONTCLAIR, NJ — Have a predilection for computer talk? Congratulations… you’re a prime candidate for the first graduate-level computational linguistics program in New Jersey, Montclair State University says.

Recently, MSU administrators announced that the school is launching a master’s degree program for computational linguistics, which will help students to merge a love of language with technology.

The program – which will begin in fall 2019 – is the first in the Garden State, school officials said.

Here’s how MSU describes the new program:

“Students in New Jersey’s first and only computational linguistics master’s degree program will receive the interdisciplinary training in computer science and linguistics needed to help machines process human language – and help linguists understand language through computer models. Working with world-class faculty in the university’s new state-of-the-art Center for Computing and Information Science, students in the two-year, 32-credit program will be prepared to fill the growing need for computational linguistics professionals in the financial, insurance, scientific and technological sectors.”
