For example, the owners of at 461 Bloomfield Avenue, Rich Fostek and David Salvatore, sent out the following email to customers on Friday:
"As if longer days and warmer weather weren't reason enough to celebrate, this weekend marks the much anticipated return of Mad Men to television after a 17-month hiatus. Many of you share our passion for this wonderfully conceived and written show. Many of you may even be getting into the spirit of the show by planning Mad Men-themed parties, capturing this magical time in our history with beautifully designed items from the period. If you're planning or attending a Mad Men event, we at EDGE Mid-Century have a huge, ever-changing selection of tantalizing items that are sure to please the most discriminating Mad Man ... or Woman! Now that's creative marketing!
Indeed, in a review of EDGE published in 2010 by Montclair Patch, writer Lauren Bright Pacheco wrote that "EDGE offers a fetching glimpse into an eye-candy existence of design perfection that Don Draper and his Mad Men cohorts could only aspire to attain."
For those who've been living in a cave, "Mad Men" is set in 1960s New York and follows the lives of the ruthlessly competitive men and women of Madison Avenue advertising, an ego-driven world where key players make an art of the sell. AMC’s award-winning drama made history as the first basic cable series ever to win the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series in four consecutive years.
The two-hour premiere is coming up Sunday at 9 p.m. on AMC. Will you be attending a premiere party? Let us know in the comments section below!
