Mischief Night Fire Damages Montclair Home, Injures Resident
A Montclair ambulance crew treated a resident for smoke inhalation suffered in the fire, officials say.
MONTCLAIR, NJ — An early morning debris fire outside a Montclair home spread to the residence, causing heavy smoke damage and a smoke inhalation injury to one of the inhabitants early on Halloween morning, fire officials say.
According to the Montclair Fire Department, firefighters arrived at the North Fullerton Avenue home around 3:23 a.m. to find a pile of debris next to the home in flames as well as a nearby section of the residence.
MFD units extinguished the fire and placed it under control at 3:43 a.m., officials said.

The exterior wall of the home suffered fire damage, there was heavy smoke damage on the first floor and moderate smoke damage throughout the rest of the house, officials said.
The Montclair Ambulance Unit treated and released one of the home’s residents for smoke inhalation, but there were no firefighter injuries, officials said.

Montclair fire officials are investigating the cause of the conflagration, authorities said.
