Montclair Kimberley Academy's young girls basketball team, which has no seniors on the 2024-2025 roster, has made considerable progress this season with a boost of having four Montclair residents: Emergy Walls, Mia Wallace, Caroline Frey and Genet Sheridan among the underclassmen.
MKA entered recent late-season action with a 10-10 overall record, including a 5-4 mark in the Super Essex Conference-Independence Division. The Cougars reached the semifinals of the state prep B-Division Tournament and quarterfinals of the Essex County Invitational Tournament.
Walls, a junior, has been one of the more versatile performers for the Cougar hoopsters as she is entered recent action first on the team in steals with 42 and second in assists with 53 while scoring 35 points and snaring 60 rebounds in 18 games played.
